Bear in mind I wrote this a few days before the fake referendum — I did not know what the police would do nor how mobs would react. After the fact, I have condemned excessive use of force by some policemen on 1 October.

In my article, I defended only what judges and the police did before the event: a few arrests and searches, and auditing the regional budget.
